In an effort to adhere to government directives and implement precautions that could help prevent the spread of COVID-19, Boyer Family Practice is now primarily offering telemedicine. For the time being, in-office visits will be rare and utilized only in special cases or emergency situations.
Patients who have access to FaceTime, Skype, and other video services can now make an appointment to receive treatment from the comfort of their own homes rather than coming into the office.
Medicare and HIPPA laws have expanded to allow that the majority of these visits are covered by insurance. In some cases, a copay or fee may still be required at the time of service.
The telemedicine visit will still be documented in patients’ charts and filed to insurance companies as usual.
